Session Tracks

Track 1 — Network Defense: Focus on Intrusion Protection Systems, Firewalls, Network Access Controls and Behavioral Analysis
Veronese 2405 – 2406, 2505 – 2506
Attacks are moving up the application stack and becoming more targeted. At the same time, network security administration continues to be reactive, costly and cumbersome. This track offers real-world examples of how McAfee customers are managing their network security and resources cost effectively. Gain strategic insight into how you can optimize your investment in McAfee solutions to improve your network security posture while lowering operational costs.

See the Sessions Catalog for information on Track 1 sessions.

Track 2 — Securing the Network: Focus on Email and Web Security

Veronese 2403 – 2404, 2503 – 2504
Email and Web continue to be the most successfully targeted and most vulnerable inbound and outbound points of your network. This has accelerated in the last two years with the emergence of "blended" email and Web threats and Web 2.0 adoption. Cost effectively protecting these "user gateways" requires both proactive planning and continued management and vigilance. This track provides frameworks, tips and techniques for protecting against threats ranging from new spam variants to insider data leaks and Web 2.0 application enablement and control.

See the Sessions Catalog for information on Track 2 sessions.

Track 3 — Protecting Every System: Focus on Endpoint

Veronese 2401 – 2402, 2501 – 2502
If you live and breathe endpoint security, this track is for you. Find out how McAfee is transforming IT operational efficiencies with new levels of integration and best practices. Do you want to seamlessly implement endpoint protection and encryption? Do you need to deploy innovations such as SaaS, Virtual Security, Host IPS or NAC and weave them into your existing security infrastructure? Are you looking for an integrated security solution for mid-size enterprises or branch offices? This track will offer answers to those questions, as well as explain how McAfee customers cut as much as half of their operational costs by adopting the award-winning McAfee endpoint security solutions.

See the Sessions Catalog for information on Track 3 sessions.

Track 4 — Protecting Every System: Focus on Data Protection
Titian 2205 – 2206, 2305 – 2306
The potential leakage or loss of vital business information poses great risk to businesses of every size. Internal governance, security policies and procedures are now equally as important as external regulatory compliance. Companies must continuously prove that they are protecting data—wherever it lives. But CIOs must also justify that their data protection projects can deliver lower Total Cost of Ownership relative to expectations, enable use of existing resources, and optimize processes wherever possible to gain ongoing efficiency. This track will discuss best practices in understanding and protecting all vital information, increasing the productivity of your users and empowering your business to operate anywhere in the world securely.

See the Sessions Catalog for information on Track 4 sessions.

Track 5 — Transforming Business through Governance, Risk and Compliance
Titian 2203 – 2204, 2303 – 2304
Today’s enterprises are faced with great challenges in balancing global regulatory and compliance requirements against business needs. Increased globalization and interconnectivity make it imperative to proactively identify and mitigate potential risks to reduce enterprise exposure. By taking an integrated approach to governance, risk and compliance, enterprises can proactively address information security and compliance threats—ultimately creating better business performance. This track will discuss best practices including how to leverage risk metrics and a unified controls framework to reduce the total cost of ownership of compliance.

See the Sessions Catalog for information on Track 5 sessions.

Track 6 — Economics of Security
Titian 2201 – 2202, 2301 – 2302
Every team within the enterprise is challenged to optimize budgets, resources and time, particularly the IT organization. IT must anticipate the ever-changing needs of the business while providing the right level of security against an evolving threat landscape. Regardless of the size of your company or your role within it, these are just a few of the “can’t-miss” topics this track will address: Consolidating point products, juggling the cost of prevention against the cost of risk and remediation, building a hybrid architecture of virtual, hosted and on-premise security, and managing the expanding costs of audits.

See the Sessions Catalog for information on Track 6 sessions.

Track 7 — Threats and Trends
Bellini 2005 – 2006, 2105 – 2106
Unlike the economic downturn, there has been no slowing down on the cybercrime front. You've often heard that the Internet is a dangerous place and you've probably covered threats such as botnets, keystroke loggers and drive-by installations of malware through rigged web sites. But what are the new techniques and methods that these cybercriminals are using? How does McAfee Avert Labs relentlessly anticipate and deal with these types of attacks? This track will cover trends and techniques that malware authors are using. It will also cover the various technologies and research methodologies that Avert researchers use to deliver protection mechanisms through McAfee products, in real time, every day.
